Controlling Devices from the Control Panel
Modifying a Control Panel
In Chromeleon, you can modify any Control Panel by adding or removing controls (i.e., buttons, sliders, color boxes, plots etc.) and linking them to display a property status or execute a certain command or string of commands.
To modify a Control Panel
Open the Control Panel you intend to modify (see How to …: Controlling Devices from the Control Panel Opening a Control Panel).
On the File menu, select Save as and save the panel under a different name.
On the Edit or context menu, click Layout Mode. Control Panels can only be edited in the Layout Mode.
To add a new Control
Move the mouse pointer over the Layout Toolbar:
The quick info box provides a brief description of the control to which you are currently pointing.
Click a control. The selected control appends to the pointer.
Click in the panel where you want to position the new control.
To remove a Control
Click the control to be removed. A control frame marks the selected control.
On the Edit menu, click Delete or press the Del key.
Modifying the Size and Position of Controls
The Control Frame marks the outline of a control. To resize, click the control and draw its control frame to the desired size.
To move a control, click and drag the control to the new position. To select several controls, press the SHIFT key and click the selected controls.
To align several controls, press the SHIFT key and click the selected controls. On the Edit menu, click Align , and then choose an option. The control frame of the control selected first is used as the reference point and reference size for the other controls.
To reduce, enlarge, or move the control frame along the grid, select Snap to Grid on the Edit menu.
To determine the mesh size of the grid, select Preferences on the File menu.
